Contrast of Colombo’s old and new architecture.

Colombo is a city that is always changing. Old buildings and historic architecture stand alongside new buildings and modern developments.

This competition invites you to capture how the city’s past and present exist together.

Look for interesting scenes, details, or moments that show the contrast between old and new, and tell a story about how Colombo is changing through your own perspective.

Open to everyone.
One entry per person (3 photographs).

• Each participant must submit exactly three (3) photographs.
• All three photographs must relate to the competition theme.
• All photographs must be captured by the participant.
• Images may be captured using any camera, including DSLR, mirrorless cameras, or smartphones.
• Photographs should be submitted in high resolution JPEG format.
• Participants must retain the original image files for verification if requested by the judging panel

To preserve the authenticity of each photograph, basic post-processing is permitted, including:

• Exposure and brightness adjustments
• Contrast and colour correction
• White balance adjustments
• Highlights and shadows adjustments
• Sharpness and noise reduction
• Cropping and straightening
• Minor dust spot or sensor mark removal

The following are NOT permitted:

• Adding or removing people, vehicles, buildings, objects, or backgrounds
• Combining or compositing multiple photographs into a single image
• Sky or background replacements
• AI-generated images
• AI-generated additions, removals, expansions, or alterations
• Heavy digital manipulation that changes the original scene
• Any edit that misrepresents what was photographed

If requested by the judges, participants must provide the original unedited image (RAW or original JPEG) for verification.

• Composition & Visual Impact
• Technical Quality

Participants retain copyright to their photographs.

By entering, participants grant AMDT School of Creativity permission to display and promote the submitted work, with appropriate photographer credit.
