Meet Our Founders

Satheesh Kumar M and Vinodi Jayawardane founded AMDT with a belief that still guides everything we do: creative talent grows fastest when creativity, technology, and business are developed together—not separately.
AMDT School of Creativity is Sri Lanka’s ONLY multidisciplinary creative institution where creativity, technology, and business intersect to develop industry-ready, future-focused leaders who shape culture, business, and society.

Why AMDT School of Creativity Exist
A Vision Beyond “Creative Education”
At a time when creativity was often underestimated, the founders saw what it could truly become—something that shapes industries, builds culture, and creates real value in the world.
AMDT was built for students who want more than inspiration. It was built to develop:
- Creative voice (original thinking, confidence, clarity of expression)
- Modern capability (tools, workflows, production standards)
- Real-world readiness (professionalism, decision-making, outcomes)
This is why AMDT has always lived at the intersection of:
- Creativity (craft, storytelling, visual thinking, design process)
- Technology (digital tools, production methods, creative systems)
- Business (audiences, value, strategy, sustainability)

The Founding Story
From Modest Beginnings to a Creative Movement
AMDT began with a commitment to teaching across disciplines and building a culture where students could grow into confident professionals.
The journey wasn’t easy. It meant challenging conventions, questioning what “creative education” should look like, and proving—again and again—that creativity is not a luxury. It’s essential.
What made AMDT grow wasn’t hype. It was consistency: high standards, serious mentoring, and an environment where curiosity thrives, individuality is respected, and students are expected to build real capability.
Proof of Meaning
What AMDT School of Creativity Is Known For
To keep this real and measurable, the founders built AMDT around outcomes that matter—especially for students and parents.

- Portfolio-led education where projects build toward real employability
- Industry-relevant practice with professional expectations and feedback
- Technology embedded into creative practice (not treated as separate)
- Business thinking for creatives so talent becomes sustainable
- A culture of care + standards: supportive, but never soft on quality

Founder Values
AMDT was built on a few simple beliefs—still visible in how we teach and how our students graduate.
Multidisciplinary by design
Great work doesn’t happen in silos. Students learn to think beyond one discipline and collaborate across roles.
Creative voice + real capability
We don’t just teach tools. We develop independent thinkers who can express original ideas and execute them professionally.
Technology as a creative advantage
Technology isn’t a separate subject—it’s part of modern creative practice and better outcomes.
Industry-ready outcomes
Every project should lead somewhere: stronger portfolios, better decisions, and graduates ready to contribute from day one.
Business thinking for creatives
Creative careers last longer when you understand value, audiences, and how work succeeds in the real world.

Vinodi Jayawardane
Co-Founder (Legacy)
Vinodi was a core part of what AMDT became—bringing a rare mix of discipline, care, and belief in students. She helped shape the standards we work by and the culture we protect: high expectations, real support, and deep respect for creative potential.
Vinodi passed away on November 30, 2024, but her presence is still felt in the way AMDT teaches and mentors—through the people, the projects, and the values that remain non-negotiable.

Continuing the Vision
AMDT School of Creativity continues under Satheesh’s leadership—not as a brand story, but as a responsibility.
The founders built AMDT on standards that still guide how we work: real care for students, seriousness about craft, and a relentless focus on outcomes. The goal has always been simple—graduates should leave here able to think independently, communicate with clarity, and deliver work that meets real expectations.
The world has changed, and AMDT has evolved with it—by bringing technology and business into the creative process without losing the soul of creativity itself. This is what multidisciplinary education means at AMDT: students learn to collaborate across fields, adapt to new tools, understand real audiences, and create work that can stand in the world—not only in a classroom.
That’s why AMDT is built where creativity, technology, and business intersect—so students don’t graduate with only a qualification, but with a portfolio, confidence, and professional capability. And it’s why we remain committed to being Sri Lanka’s ONLY multidisciplinary creative institution—developing industry-ready, future-focused leaders who will shape culture, business, and society through the work they put into the world.
